Reginaldo Nunes Dos Santos, 49, was sentenced to two months in federal prison after pleading guilty to illegally reentering the United States for a third time, federal prosecutors said. U.S. Border Patrol agents arrested him following a traffic stop near Watertown on June 11.
Dos Santos had previously been deported in 2020 after an arrest in Texas in 2019, prosecutors said. He is subject to deportation after completing the sentence. The U.S. Border Patrol investigated the case, and Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael Whalen prosecuted it.
