Shoppers in Potsdam and Gouverneur will have a chance to meet adoptable animals this weekend. Both Tractor Supply stores are set to host local animal shelters and rescue organizations on Saturday, Aug. 15, for pet adoption events.
The events are part of Tractor Supply's Animal Days celebration, which runs through Aug. 23. Tractor Supply officials said the promotion recognizes animals and the people who care for them, and includes deals on treats, toys and health and wellness products.
Tractor Supply also said it is partnering with Miranda Lambert's MuttNation Foundation to award $255,000 in grants to 51 animal shelters nationwide, with a number of grant recipients being recognized in stores during Saturday's events.
According to Tractor Supply, more than three-quarters of Americans own at least one pet, and food and treats make up roughly 96 percent of monthly pet spending, followed by toys, vitamins and specialized nutrition.
