The Watertown Wolves will open their 2026-27 Federal Prospects Hockey League home schedule against the Danbury Hat Tricks on Friday, Oct. 16, at Northern Credit Union Community Arena. The teams will meet again at the arena Saturday, Oct. 17.
The Wolves are beginning the home portion of their schedule under new ownership after local businessman Daniel Drake bought the team from league commissioner Don Kirnan. The change followed an April announcement that the franchise needed a new owner or might not play the following season. Drake also acquired the Watertown Rapids baseball team and owns Clubhouse Cards.
The Wolves started the season with a 5-2 loss at the Binghamton Black Bears, the league’s three-time defending champions. Watertown is competing in the newly formed Great Lakes Division with the Indiana Sentinels, Port Huron Prowlers and Motor City Rockers.
Brent Clarke has returned as the Wolves’ head coach, and defenseman Kyle Powell is also back with the team. The franchise has changed its logo as it begins its 12th season in Watertown.
Game times for the two home openers have been listed differently. A team release lists a 7:05 p.m. start on both nights, while another published listing gives a 7:30 p.m. start. Tickets are available through Clubhouse Cards, including group rates for groups of 10 or more.
The Wolves’ later listed home dates include Indiana on Nov. 6, Danbury on Nov. 11 and Motor City on Nov. 20. The arena is owned by the city of Watertown and operates under a five-year naming-rights agreement with Northern Credit Union worth $115,000 total.
